Colossians 1:19-20 "For in him the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of the cross." In our natural state we are enemies of God, rejecting His ways to go our own way. However God provided a path of reconciliation through the sacrifice of His own Son. His blood gives us peace with the holy God. Then He adopts us as His children. No longer enemies of God, we become His beloved sons and daughters.
