I am certainly not a fashion designer, but I know that you don’t wear a swimsuit and sandals to a black-tie event. If you go to one of these soirees you will need to be prepared. You will have to obtain a formal dress or tuxedo, some nice shoes, and the proper accessories. If you are like me, you will also have to do some personal grooming as well. All this preparation is necessary to gain access to the event and to represent yourself well.
God has given us an invitation to the wedding feast of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. We need to be prepared for the celebration. First, we must accept the invitation by trusting Jesus as our Savior and Lord. Without following Him, we will not be able to find our way to the feast. Also when we trust in Jesus for salvation, He clothes us with the robe of His righteousness. Without the proper clothing, we cannot enter and enjoy eternity with Him.
Luke 12:35 says, “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning.” God lovingly invites us to the wedding feast of Jesus. He even gives us the proper clothing, if we accept the invitation. The feast is prepared. We must be dressed in the robe of His righteousness and be ready to go. You won’t want to miss this glorious event.
