I am so unskilled at putting things together that we rarely bought any unassembled gifts for our children as they were growing up. In the rare case that a gift needed assembly, I either enlisted help from my brother-in-law or my wife had to put it together. I Generally didn’t even understand the directions.
I think that we all search for the Instruction Book of life. Some go to self-help books that may answer a specific question. Some search the holy books of various religions, only to find a list of things that they must do, rather than any real answers. Some of us lazy folks just ask our friends for their advice, only to find that they too are searching.
Romans 15:4 says, “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the Scriptures we might have hope.” The Bible is not a list of rules. Instead, it provides proven instruction on how to live in accordance with God’s design for abundant living. This instruction, along with God’s promises, give us encouragement that leads to a certain hope, along with His guarantee.
Search a different path today. Search the Scriptures, the Bible, and see if you do not find encouragement and hope. See what God has promised to give you if you trust Him.
