Shady financial deals are done behind closed doors. Drug buys are often done in secret places. Infidelity occurs in clandestine locations and times. When we do the things that we are most ashamed of, we tend to do them in secret ways and places. We don’t want others to know the bad things that we are capable of doing.
Jesus spoke these words; “And this is the judgment; the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light.” Most of us don’t think we do wicked things. After all, we haven’t killed anyone or stolen a car. But God has a different definition for evil. He says that every act of selfishness and self-centered behavior is sin. That’s because we dishonor God by doing whatever we want instead of the good that He wants us to do.
Don’t hold onto the darkness by holding onto selfishness and self-centeredness. Instead, come to the Light of the World, Jesus Christ. Confess your sins to Him and ask Him for forgiveness. He will save you from judgment and help you walk in the light.
