Jumping for Joy

What is the last time that you spontaneously celebrated? What makes you jump up from your seat and pump your fist in the air? Or what was the last thing that make you cry tears of joy? We can be thus moved by a variety of things. Perhaps it was a child’s birth, a big victory for your favorite team, or an act of heroism. These and many other things are worthy of celebration.

Psalm 99:4 gives us another reason to celebrate when it says, “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyful song and sing praises!” God has done great things for us. He provided for our salvation through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. He has redeemed us from a life of slavery to sin and given us a new life of freedom. He provides our needs and protects us from evil. These are just a few of God’s awesome works on behalf of His children, but they are certainly cause for celebration. Today, go ahead and break loose from the societal norms to celebrate our God. Laugh, enjoy life, and sing praises to God. Maybe even jump up and down and give God a high five.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
