Acts That Please God

When we give gifts, we think about what the other person needs or wants. We want to give something that pleases them. Our desire is to honor them and demonstrate our love.

Hebrews 13:15-16 says, “Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” We don’t offer animal sacrifices to God, but we can offer sacrifices that please Him. First we can simply acknowledge God for who He is and what He does. Praise befits His nature and blessings. Second we can do good works. Good done in the power of the Holy Spirit bears fruit and is a form of worship. Thirdly, we can share what we have with those in need. This sacrifice acknowledges that everything we have has been given to us by God. God is pleased when we offer these three sacrifices, as they reveal His blessings to us and His divine nature. These sacrifices honor God and demonstrate our love for Him.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
