Like a Lamp

When you place a lamp within a room and turn it on, the whole room is lit up. The only way a portion of the room can remain dark is if it is cut off from the light. Light destroys darkness.

Luke 11:35-36 says, “Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.” Be careful where you place your thoughts and attention. Even a little bit of darkness affects the light you can experience and share with others. When we focus on unworthy thoughts, we are cutting a portion of ourselves off from the light. We are making that part of us dark. Let’s focus our thoughts and attention on God, truth, godliness, and love.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
