Good Interactions

Our typical conversations and interactions take place at a superficial layer. We talk about our health or the weather or some recent activity. We generally do not delve deeper into personal concerns and thoughts. When we do speak at a deeper level, it is generally to get something that will benefit us, like some assistance or at least some encouragement.

Romans 1:11-12 says, “For I long to see you that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you, that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.” Our conversations and relationships would be dramatically changed if we sought to benefit and encourage others each time we interact, rather than focusing on what benefit we can obtain from the interaction. Let’s think about how we can bless others in our interactions, rather than what we can get out of it. Our world will be better if we just do this one thing.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
