Think about this for a moment. What is unchangeable? Music lyrics frequently say someone’s love is unchangeable, but people go in and out of relationships at will. The winds of politics change with current events. New scientific discoveries often cause an about face on what we previously thought was true.
Job 23:13 says, “But he is unchangeable, and who can turn him back? What he desires, that he does.” One reason we can trust God is because He is unchanging. He is perfect in every way, so He has no need to change or improve Himself. He can do whatever He desires. He is faithful to His Word, His promises, His nature, and to His people. He is, therefore, completely trustworthy.
