Broken Promises

Today, families often look much different than in the past. Many traditional values have gone by the wayside. Families are often beset by struggle and tensions. Often one or more members of the family have left the home and have little to no contact with other family members.

I Timothy 5:8 says, “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” We are given this stern warning about taking care of our own families, not just financially but to make sure all needs are met. God wants us our families to be places of compassion and kindness. We are commanded to meet the needs of family members, whether it be financial, emotional, intellectual, or spiritual. Failure to do so separates us from God’s will and desire and brings trouble upon our families, communities, nation and the world.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
