While Waiting

The day after Jesus was crucified, the disciples observed the Jewish Sabbath and waited. They were confused and bewildered, not having fully understood Jesus’ teaching about His resurrection. Their Lord had just been brutally killed and they didn’t know what to expect next, but hope remained.

Titus 2:11-13 says, “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Jesus has left us on earth and just like the disciples we wait for His glorious return. As believers, we wait for Jesus to return in glory. We should not be passive but instead actively live godly and upright lives according to His power within us. He has given us salvation through His death on the cross, but so much more is to be gained by walking in His glorious might now and with Him in glory in the near future and forevermore.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
