Wedding Feasts

It seems to me, a casual observer, that wedding meals are getting more elaborate. Some have become so expensive that guests are asked to contribute. At a wedding, there is great cause to celebrate, but the occasion can get a bit overblown. The wedding feast of the Lamb of God, however, will be the greatest cause for celebration and God has prepared a feast that could never be matched. At these wedding, Jesus will be married to His bride, the church of God, true believers in Him.

Revelation 19:6-8 says, “Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, ‘Hallelujah! for the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure, for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.'” On the Sunday of Jesus’ resurrection from the grave, the disciples could celebrate His gift of salvation and victory over death. When Jesus returns for His children, we will celebrate His victorious rule over all peoples and the marriage feast of Jesus with the bride made up of those who have trusted in Him. This celebration will never end as those who have trusted in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord will spend eternity with Him.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
