Where My Feet Take Me

I had a bad week last week. I tripped and fell four times, prompting a visit to the orthopedist. Nothing was broken, just a badly bruised elbow. As I get older, my feet tend to fail me sometimes. They find obstacles that my eyes do not see. The result is disastrous.

I Samuel 2:9 says, “He will guard the feet of his faithful ones, but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness, for not by might shall a man prevail.” Efforts to achieve salvation or God’s favor by intellect, strength, or efforts to be good all fail. But He will protect and guide those who love Him and are faithful to Him. With God our steps are secure because He promises to guard them. If we faithfully follow Him, He will lead us in the right paths and make the way for us.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
