Friends Versus Companions

Because I am socially awkward, I have never made a lot of friends. However, I have always had a close group of a select number of friends. I could count on these close friends for encouragement, acceptance, assistance, and love.

Proverbs 18:24 says, “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Be kind and loving to all people, but don’t make it a goal to have a large multitude of companions. Rather find a select group of close friends and be a good friend to them. And remember that Jesus is your friend and promises to never leave you, but will always be with you to help you.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
