Providing

We all need certain things to move forward in life, and sometimes, to just make it through the day. The variety of things that we can need makes it challenging to provide for these needs without help. Most often that help should come from our families. Unfortunately, we often fail to provide what it needed, even to our family members.

I Timothy 5:8 says, “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” On this day when we celebrate our freedom, let us also remember our responsibility to take care of our families. No matter what stage of life we are at, God has called us to take care of our families and failure to do so is a denial of our faith. We should be alert to the needs of each family member and seek ways to provide for the financial, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our family members.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
