Advertising campaigns promise to satisfy our desires, because the products that they offer will bring us good looks, financial success, and the overwhelming admiration of others. Even if these products could deliver on their promises, we would still be left unsatisfied and yearning for more. Instead of seeking these benefits, we should be searching for what truly satisfies the souls and hearts of human beings.
Psalm 65:4 says, “Blessed is the one who you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple!” Thank God that He has chosen to draw us into His presence. His goodness and holiness satisfies our hearts. Only in God’s presence does the human heart and soul finds true and lasting satisfaction and fulfillment. What we need and truly desire is found only in God’s goodness and holiness.
