Faith Grows When Tested

One thing that we can be sure of in life, is that storms will come. Often they come when we are already overwhelmed and don’t know what to do. God promised to never leave His children. And we know that He is sovereign over all things, with nothing outside of His knowledge and ability to rule over it. Therefore, we can trust Him, not to take away the storm necessarily, but rather to take us through the storm to the other side. Then we will find that our faith is stronger and more vibrant.

On a ship tossed by hurricane winds and a raging sea, Paul said to those aboard ship, “Yet now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship. For this very night there stood before me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship, and he said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar. And behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ So take heart men, for I have faith in God that it will be exactly as I have been told.” Faith grows best when it is put to the test. In the storms of life, we can put our trust in God because He is sovereign over all things, He is good, and will not leave us.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
