Sometimes a product or service turns out to not provide the benefit that we were seeking. So we go to the store or call the company, seeking to return the item or some other resolution that will satisfy our needs. But often, we cannot get the help from the first person we talk with, not because they don’t want to help us, but rather they don’t have the authority to do what we need. So we must seek a conversation with someone who has the authority and can make the changes we need.
Philippians 4:5-7 says, “The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Worry is a conversation you have with yourself about things you cannot control. Prayer is a conversation you have with God about things He can change. The next time you are worrying, just change the conversation and speak to the One who can do something about the situation and, perhaps, your thoughts.
