Gift Card

Suppose you receive a gift card unexpectedly from someone. You were expecting anything, so now you don’t think that there is much money on this card. So you hold onto it for some rainy day casual expense. Then, an emergency pops up and you don’t have sufficient funds to cover this expense. So you use the gift card, not expecting much help. But you find out that the card has thousands of dollars available for your use, more than covering your current need, but also helping you to do some things around the house that haven’t been able to afford until now. This person has given you a gift that is generous and abundant.

Ephesians 3:20-21 says, “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Many of us, believers and nonbelievers, lead mundane, frustrated, and unremarkable lives because we fail to draw upon the power of God. The prayer of faith is the key to unlocking this power for us and through us. He can and will do much more than we ask or imagine. Let’s not allow unbelief cause us to miss the opportunity to do amazing things in God’s name.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
