Works of Art

Let’s imagine for a moment that I am a great artist. In this fantasy, I have created many works of art admired by the world and have become quite famous for my artistic talent. Many of my works are displayed in famous museums around the world. Yet, there is one small piece of art that I hold most dear. I have displayed this piece before, but it remains in my protective care. The world has seen it but hasn’t taken much notice of it. But, for me, it is most precious and I keep it close to me, protecting it and making it shine.

Psalm 8:3-4 says, “When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” Even with all the glorious things that God created, He has chosen to direct His attention to us. And not only does He think of us, but He also gives us His tender care as His children. Amidst all of God’s glorious creation, He gives His greatest attention and care to His children.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
