Drifting Away

A ship that is left to drift on the open seas is soon subject to a variety of dangers. The waves and winds set themselves up against the ship and take it wherever they go. However, a ship that is functioning at full power and under the wisdom of an experienced captain will most likely find its intended desitination.

Hebrews 2:1 says, “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” The person who does not remember and learn from the truth, will likely drift away from it. Pay close attention to what God speaks to you in His Word and what He shows you in His works. By remembering God’s truth and the works that He has done for us, we can draw upon the power and wisdom that we need to fulfill the purpose God has designed for us.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
