My hearing has really deteriorated lately. The audiologist told me that volume is no longer the issue, but rather I am having trouble distinguishing sounds. So I can hear the words spoken to me, but I am having trouble discerning the words. I need people to speak somewhat slowly and articulate their words well. Similarly, when we approach God in worship and in prayer, we must come in the proper manner.
Psalm 19:14 says, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” The writer of this verse is making a plea to God, asking that his own worship be acceptable to God. The writer is also speaking of his personal quest to depend upon God to make the writer’s words and meditation be aligned with God’s words and thoughts. Let us also seek by God’s power in us to align our words and thoughts with God’s.
