We are trained through experience to expect rewards as a result of our efforts. We work at our jobs and expect compensation. We play sports in an effort to win trophies, ribbons, and acclaim. We often do good with a thought as to what we might receive in return. God’s economy doesn’t work in the same way. He gives us blessings through His grace. Rewards come to us from God, not because of what we do,but rather simply based on who He is.
II Chronicles 15:7 says, “But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.” The works that we do for God and in the power of God will be rewarded. So, don’t give up hope, but take courage from this promise of God.
