Need a Physician?

When I was young, I hated going to the doctor’s office. I would do everything in my power to avoid seeing the doctor. I thought that my own willpower and toughness would enable me to get through the illness or injury. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I eventually went to the doctor’s office because I need to see a physician to get healed.

Matthew 9:11-13 says, “And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?’ But when he heard it, he said, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means; I desire mercy, and not sacrifice. for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.'” The first step in receiving God’s grace and blessings is to humble ourselves and admit that we are in need. Pride keeps us from seeking God, because we feel that we do not need Him. Our religious activities cannot win the favor of God.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
