We are in the season of giving and receiving gifts. It is the season of spreading love and joy. God’s people are given the present of entering into the presence of God. The way was paved for us by the blood of Jesus, who leads us into God’s presence and serves as our Advocate and Intercessor before the Father. It is in the presence of God that we receive gifts that are far more valuable and long lasting than those we receive at Christmas. These blessings include, but are not limited to, His steadfast love, faithfulness, salvation, promises, hope, and joy everlasting.
Psalm 95:2-3 says, “Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” In the season of presents, let us remember to thank God for His presence. It is when we are walking with Him that we receive the greatest gifts that we will ever receive.
