If you have ever served on a jury, you know of your solemn responsibilty to be convinced of the truth. Evidence is provided by both sides. Then at the end of the trial, the jury deliberates to determine their verdict.
I Thessalonians 1:4-5 says, “For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction.” The gospel comes to us with undeniable authenticity and authority. It is accompanied by the awesome power and truth of the Holy Spirit. Through these evidences we are convinced that we are brothers in the faith and loved by God.
