When we cannot repay a debt, we can expect certain things to happen. We may hear from the lender and have discussions about repaying the debt in some form. If we still cannot repay, the loan collateral may be impounded or forfeited by us to the lender. Our credit rating will decline, making it harder to obtain other loans. We will not receive the same favor from lenders and sellers.
Psalm 103:10-12 says, “He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.” Christians are far from being perfect, but we are forgiven through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our sins. His blood covers our sins and removes them far from us. We are no longer condemned to wrath, but are now justified before our Heavenly Father. Our debt to our Father was paid in full by the Son.
