Avoid Stumbling

As I get older, I am tending to shuffle my feet more when I walk. Shuffling, or not lifting my feet, causes me to stumble and fall more often. I am usually fine when the walking surface is smooth and well-lit. But add in some obstacles or inattention on my part, and the odds of stumbling increase.

Proverbs 3:21-23 says, “My son, do not lose sight of these – keep sound wisdom and discretion, and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck.   Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble.” When we forsake God’s wisdom, our path through life becomes more treacherous. Obstacles abound and we are sure to stumble. God’s truth lights the way for a secure walk and eternal life.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
