Choosing Stones

When our grandson was younger, he took an interest in stones. Whether he was on an active search for stones or just casually walking around, a stone would catch his eye and he would take it home and give it a place of honor. To be honest, many of his precious stones looked ordinary and valueless to me, but he gave them value.

I Peter 2:4-5 says, “As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” Some stones appear ordinary, lifeless, and useless. When we come to Jesus, however, He transforms us into living stones that offer spiritual sacrifices which are acceptable to God. He gives us value by calling us chosen and precious in His sight.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
