At our house, my wife opens all the window blinds and curtains the first thing every morning. She likes to let the light shine in. Many people prefer the softer lighting of their interior lights. She prefers to let others know that we are here and for herself to see the world around us.
Philippians 2:14-15 says, “Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world.” Faithful believers in Jesus are called to be lights in this dark world by reflecting the image of Jesus to the world. Grumbling and disputing darken our lights. Blameless and innocent behavior brighten our lights and allow others to see Jesus in us.
