Commissioning

In I Chronicles 28, King David is commissioning his son, Solomon to be the next king. At a formal commissioning service, a person is commended into service. They are given orders and responsibilities of their service. The commissioned person commits to these terms and faithful service of the orders and responsibilities.

In I Chronicles 28:9 David commissioned Solomon and said, “And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.” Our first and primary call from God is to know Him. This knowledge comes from a moment by moment relationship with Him where we follow where He leads and learn from what He says in His Word and from what does. Then, we are called to love Him with our whole hearts and renewed minds.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
