Whether it be business projects or personal projects, we are taught to gather the necessary resources before beginning the work. So, we make sure that we have the necessary funds, right plans, and the right people to successfully complete the project. God’s economy does not work like that. It is God alone that is necessary to accomplish His purposes.
I Samuel 14:6 says, “Jonathan said to the young man who carried his armor, ‘Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised. It may be that the LORD will work for us, for nothing can hinder the LORD from saving by many or by few.'” Facing great opposition, that is thousands of enemy warriors, Jonathan believed God could use his meager resources, that is himself and his armor carrier, to save his people. God can do more great things for us with just a little, more than we can do with a lot of our own resources.
