What Is Important?

I believe that we all understand that unseen things can have deep meaning and impact for our lives. We have heard the expression used in gift giving and receiving, “It’s the thought that counts”. This expression places importance upon the unseen motives of the giver. We pursue peace and love, often at the expense of material possessions. A life given to only seeking material things is a life not lived to its full potential and God given purpose.

II Corinthians 4:18 says, “as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” We understand that unseen things like love and peace are more important than material possessions. But we sometimes forget that unseen things like our relationship with God and eternal life are far more important than worldly rewards.

After 16 years of vocational ministry, God has called me to a simpler ministry. Now I just proclaim His truth simply to those who are open to hear it. God is speaking through His Word and His creation.
