At times we will have some feeling or emotion that we just can’t shake. Perhaps, it is a fear or anxiety of a future event. Maybe it is a concern for someone dear to us. We may have a specific reason for this emotion or it may come over us without a known cause.
In Isaiah 54:10 God promises, “‘For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,’ says the LORD, who has compassion on you.” The mountains appear unshakable to us. God promises that His steadfast love for His children is truly unshakable and cannot be taken away. He also promises that His peace will not be removed from us. He understands us and has compassion on us.
